not exactly what I ordered

I was all set to write a post about how excited I was about the steal I found on Howie's replacement carseat and how quick Target was to ship it. It arrived today and I was grinning as I opened the door before the UPS man could even get back down the steps. Woo! No more $40 emergency back-up carseat that could double as a medieval toddler torture device, and we came in $30 less than the check from the insurance agency, which was even $30 less than replacement price.

I had ordered an exact replacement of his lovely tan seat, which matched the lovely tan interior of our car.

Here's what I received today:

It's called aloha print and is certainly not the Jefferson tan we were expecting.

Really, I'm still excited about the price I found and we don't go out all that often. Hopefully next week I'll have some very nice things to say about Target's online exchange department.

I had to check and make sure that I was only on anti-inflammatories and not narcotics.

That is some *GROOVY* fabric.

Are you saying you don't like the flowers? Good luck exchanging the seat.

Nope. Nothing Jefferson Tan about that seat. What a bummer. For a boy, that is.

That's very flowery.
Howie now has a "sweet" seat.

Say it 10 times, it sounds cool.

It would be good for a girl. I would maybe even keep it if I could be assured that I'll be dressing the next occupant in pink. Howie was all excited to get it out of the box, but I just can't bring myself to have him ride around in that.

You're so resourceful, Ity. The thought had crossed my mind to put our old cover on the new seat and sell the aloha print on ebay. Afterall, the cover wasn't affected by the accident and those covers are pricey. The gray straps killed that idea. Same as putting a boy in that print, I can't mix gray straps and a tan cover.
