Once upon a time...
there was a young wife who showered and washed her hair every day (by 8 am most days). She went on regular dates with her charming husband and spent time with friends. She wore make-up, styled her hair and exercised regularly. She had a good job where she talked to adults every day. She attended a university where she took interesting classes and it seemed as though she was within sight of finishing her degree. The young wife cleaned her bathroom every week, as well as vacuumed, swept and mopped her floors whether they needed it or not. Then one day everything changed. Her life now has only the smallest shadow of what it was.but, once upon a time she didn't have a little boy who liked to climb up on the couch and snuggle with her. There was no one to curl up on her chest, bury his head in her neck and sigh, "happy. mama happy?" Yes, mama's happy.
Forget once upon a time. I've got happily ever after.

Hygienically challenged? Didn't you once have a roommate like that?
LOL. Wait til #2 gets here!
Seriously, that is about the sweetest thing EVER!
Aw Jennifer, you are going to scare Valarie ;)
So true, especially the happily ever after part.
just to clarify, there have only been a few days where I have missed a shower completely. They're just a lot later than I'd like and my hair gets skipped about every other day now.
Pretty sure it's better for your hair to not be washed every day. If not just pretend like it is...
Awwww... that totally made me get all squishy inside. Sweet little Howie.
I hear you on the not showering. :)
Aw sweet!
I frequently don't get in the shower 'til 5 or later.
*sigh*
Does splashing water in the direction of your face count as a shower? ;)
Such a cute story.
What a sweet story! You definitely have a happy ending!
What a great post! Kids are so wonderful. And you definitley have the happily ever after!
Um...What's a shower?
Love this. Really sweet and so true. It's a great reminder.
AMEN! the shower/makeup thing are highly overrated- just wait to you have to get outside to the bus stop every morning!
