It's a race
We have 6 payments left to go on our car. My goal is to have it paid off before it reaches 100,000 miles. Given that the odometer read 93041 when I got home last night, I think that's a race we're going to lose. [93039 would have been a cooler number, but we would have to live in the townhouses just off the highway for that to have happened. Of course, then we would be driving 4 miles less each day and wouldn't have driven as many miles by now and would have more available cash to divert toward the loan... anyway, it's really getting up there in miles.] I don't think we realized the full time frame of a 60 month loan when we bought the car oh so long ago. There's just something wrong with still paying for a car with 100,000 miles on it.The reason I was out at all last night was because our electricity went out in the middle of my shift. I had to drive 1/2 hour to the office just to work 1.5 hours. The power was still out when I got home. That made for a relaxing evening that would have been even nicer if well, we had electricity. I dug my book out from under the furniture and read by the light of a battery powered lantern- better than candlelight, but still a little hard on the eyes.

Maybe you should waste half your life on the bus just to reach that goal, ha.
SO jealous that your car's almost paid off! I'm glad you don't live in those townhouses, fwiw.
:o)
we're halfway there. half paid off and half way to 100k. it does suck. but yay for 6 more payments!
Six more payments....so it really does come to an end eventually?
Contrats to have it almost paid off! That is the best feeling in the world...until you have to use that money to buy another car. You should just live where I live. I can't get out of our subdivision because EVERY road is closed thanks to UDOT. I have even resorted to WALKING to the grocery store!
We haven't had our power go out yet...knock on wood. I don't know what I would do without the AC.
