synopsis of today
6:00 bring Howie to bed and convince him that it's still time to sleep- feeling: exhausted7:15 finally get out of bed and get ready to leave the house- rushed
7:29 go out the door to drive Matt to work- focused
7:30 Matt sits on the hand mirror we keep in the car to occupy Howie or check on him- sheepishly superstitious
8:15-9:00 try to feed Howie breakfast, shower and get ready for the day- pissy that I have to work at all
9:00-10:58- work by far the most I ever have of my Monday morning shift- anxious, mixed with nervous and angry
11:20 arrive at playdate 20 minutes late- frantic
11:20-1:00 playdate with Char, Sabra and ABC Momma- lovely
1:20 return leather samples to designer and tell her that we're just not ready to buy- peace
1:30-2:30 hope Howie will miraculously fall down and go to sleep- dillusional
2:40 give up on a nap and leave house to run errands and check in with Matt- defeated
3:15 Pick Matt up instead- relieved
3:30 Matt tells me that he and the Sr VP mutually agreed to end his contract effective 7/31- holy crap
3:30-3:45 process above information- anxious, abit nervous excited, justified, but not worried
3:45- realize we need health insurance- worried as hell
the rest of the day is a blur. I could hardly sit still for my shift tonight. We knew this was coming, but thought it would be closer to six weeks than two (one of which we are on vacation). Matt leaves tomorrow for a conference in San Jose. It's completely unfair of him to leave me while my stomach is in knots and my mind is running circles. Let's hope today took care of the whole seven years worth of bad luck.
ETA: one more thing from yesterday afternoon. We received the invitation to the company "'family carnival' at that park". Guess we'll be sending our regrets. Damn. They're even handing out free t-shirts.

We're thinking of you. If you need anything (including couches), let me know.
:o)
Oh, Val - I was going to comment on your last post saying after all your naggings, I would wait to do anything. This is not what I had in mind though. Sorry I missed your call and know you had more important things to do when I called you back. I love you. Praying something bigger and better is just around the bend.
Oh Val, that stinks! What is it that your husband does? My DH is an independent computer programmer contracting for an HR firm. I know they are going to end the contract for one of the programmers because he is terrible. If that is what he does, e-mail me at blackeyedsue2 at g-mail dot com.
Independent health insurance is a pain. If you need any tips.
I am so sorry.
I have an extra couch, its hot ;) hehehe, snort.
(hugs)
Hugs Val... so sorry! You'll be in my prayers. :)
