some things I understand

wanting to give your children everything you can
supporting their likes and interests
trying to be a fun parent
attempting a smooth transition from the crib to a bed
hoping your kid will stay in bed all night
having a themed kid's room

what I don't get is this
$275 for a toddler bed?! and that's not including the bedding. You can't even plan on handing it down. What if the next kid hates trains? What if there is no next kid? Plus, I think that big smooth face is kind of creepy.

Yeah, that's just ugly. Is it plastic? Yuck. It offends my sensibilities and I think it would scare my kid.

But if you have any great ideas for how to get the kid to move from the crib to his big brother's bottom bunk, I'm all ears.

Even I wouldn't buy it, and we all know how much money I waste on furniture.....

I'm not into plastic beds. If our crib didn't convert to a toddler bed, we'd never even use one.

I've never really "got" toddler beds. I mean, if they're old enough to get out of the crib, they're old enough for a twin size bed. At least just the mattress on the floor for a while.

My kidlet would go gagga for that one but still sleep on the floor. :)

275 buy a 5 dollar toy train and then get him a normal head and foot board he'll appreciate until he's at least 15.

You know what's sad about that bed is that someone WILL buy it. And the bed company people banked on that!

I totally agree. The face on that train is terrifying!

totally worth it. OR... you could send your child to college. In our house, it's one or the other.

Ok. We went through the Thomas phase and I was crushed when he grew out of it. BUT, I still would never have bought this. It's kind of scary.

It's good to know another practical person out there. I agree this is pretty ridiculous for a toddler bed. Why toddler beds? Why can't we transition our kids to twin beds these days?

I'm glad I'm not the only one who finds that face creepy.

$275? wow, when I was a little girl we didn't have no fancy $275 + tax bed, we slept on the floor with the chikens, walked barefeet through the snow to get to school and milked the cows everyday. Liked it just fine, yes siree.

Ha ha ha, just kidding, the chickens were actually pets.
